Rest. Do any of us really get enough of it? I know I don't. Too often I feel pulled in a thousand different directions and find that even when I rest, it's not truly restful. Sadly, I feel pretty confidant most people would resonate with that. When I first started doing this work, the notion of rest, the season of Winter and in particular, the sign of Pisces is what drew me towards what I do now. I found myself deeply caught in the wheel of this crazy life we all live in. This society we built for ourselves that pulls us away from nature, away from the calls of the cosmos and away from rest. And once I had this realization of how far I'd let myself go, I felt compelled to try to repair and, instead attempt to live my life by the seasons. In fact, that is the entire reason I started diving into Astrology and started my business. Originally it was just to help me to learn to live rhythmically the way Mother Nature intended. I see massive pulls from much of the collective working on this as well and it gives me so much hope. If you're getting this email, chances are, you're working on this too. The question I come back to, time and time again, is...why is this so hard?
Friends, why do we all find it so hard to rest? I think mostly the answer to that question is simple. Society tells us we're not allowed to. And I see us fighting to claim it back. With Pluto now in Aquarius, my hope is that our vision...our revolution, in the upcoming years will be to claim living by the rhythms of our beautiful earth and cosmos again. So, I hope you'll join me during Pisces Season, to take the opportunity to rest. To fight the urges that tell us that we always need to be working and actually sit and be still for no other reason than it is what is you want to do.
I've been absent from sending this email and from Instagram for a little while now. And I find myself constantly having a battle in my head between following my intuition telling me to hold back and forcing myself to put myself out there, even though I didn't want to. I chose listening to my gut. My hope is that you're able to do the same. And I found it funny that in the last week or so, I had a burst of energy and did all this planning for Pisces Season. Of all the seasons...Pisces, the one asking us to rest. But, none the less, I listened. And wouldn't you know it when I woke up this morning on the first day of Pisces Season, and just could not get out of bed. I'll claim that as a win. My body in line with the Zodiac. Sigh.
So now the question I find myself asking is this. Is it possible to rest the way Pisces asks me to, and also continue with the work I've started. I'd like to think the answer is yes. After all, none of us really just wants to rest all day long for whole month, do we? What if we took time during this season to intentionally rest. After all, Pisces rest doesn't just mean sleeping. It means connecting. It means feeling a certain compassion and ease throughout everything we do. It's everything and nothing all at once. It's meditation. It's yoga. It's taking a relaxing bath or calm walk. It's your body feeling light and your mind feeling connected to source.
And as is the case in Astrology, if we want to know the high road of one sign, we attempt to move towards the opposite sign. In Pisces case, Virgo. Virgo helps Pisces not to fall into their shadow side, which is escapism. Let us rest this season, but not escape.
So what if we spent this time, attempting to feel rest within our bodies, even when we are awake, and also used the energy of Virgo when had to do our daily tasks? How rested would we actually feel? This will be what I'm attempting this Pisces Season. The balance between Pisces and Virgo. I feel chills at the very idea that I could succeed in this balance. Will you join me? I'd love for you to shoot me a quick email and learn your thoughts about this or exchange ideas about how we can support eachother to find this balance.
But no matter, whether you're able to attempt this balance between Pisces and Virgo, or you'd just prefer to live in those sweet Pisces waters, or you truly don't have time to have a solid Pisces rest, my hope for you, is that you're able to move closer towards Pisces this season. May we all get some rest, so that we wake up refreshed when Spring and Aries arrives.
